Storepass vs BinderPOS

Keep Shopify. Expand beyond BinderPOS.

BinderPOS remains a recognizable Shopify operating system for existing stores, with catalog, pricing, POS, buylist, reporting, and events. Storepass adds catalog support for Riftbound, Gundam Card Game, and Japanese Pokémon. These lines are missing from BinderPOS's supported catalog. Storepass also adds BigCommerce choice, richer storefront growth tools, and a flat-fee path for established retailers. New BinderPOS onboarding is currently paused.

Start with fit

Different tools optimize for different stores.

A feature count is only useful after the operating model is clear. These are the clearest public positions for each platform. We're not claiming that one system is right for every retailer.

Storepass position

Storepass

Vertical tools for stores that want to own the customer relationship

Storepass goes deep on the card-store customer journey rather than just focusing wide on marketplace connections. Flexible themes, search, merchandising, POS, buylist, customer credit, local inventory, and in-store experiences help retailers turn shoppers into a durable base of direct, repeat, and loyal customers.

Competitor strength

BinderPOS

Legacy Shopify card-store operations

Existing BinderPOS stores centered on Shopify and multichannel card sales. New seller onboarding is currently paused.

Side-by-side

Compare the operating model, not just the checklist.

“Positive” markers highlight a documented strength, not an absolute winner. Availability can depend on plan, region, marketplace approval, and implementation.

Where Storepass leads

Build customer relationships that compound.

Marketplaces can add reach, but they own the shopping relationship and take a cut of each sale. Storepass focuses on the vertical tools card stores need to build direct customer relationships through a differentiated online experience, connected in-store service, and reasons to return. The result is a durable engine for repeat business and loyalty, not just another channel for one-off transactions.

Public feedback

Signals worth testing in your own proof of concept.

Future plans are difficult to verify, so compare dated change logs, recent releases, and visible bug fixes instead. Storepass customers can review a change log of recent updates. Ask BinderPOS to show comparable releases, a named escalation path, and a complete data export before extending your commitment.

User-reported

BinderPOS

Current and former users have described missing functionality around prereleases, slow support, and limited recent development.

New BinderPOS onboarding is currently paused. Existing stores should compare recent dated releases, visible bug fixes, support response, and escalation paths before making a long-term commitment.

Questions to settle

Before you choose a platform.

Is BinderPOS accepting new stores?

No new-store onboarding is currently available. Interested sellers are directed to a BinderPOS waitlist while the platform works on its systems. Existing BinderPOS stores continue to receive support.

Can a BinderPOS store keep its Shopify data with Storepass?

Yes. The products, inventory, customers, and storefront foundation already live in Shopify. Storepass can connect to that foundation instead of requiring the store to recreate its commerce operation from scratch.

How do the published sales fees compare?

BinderPOS publishes a 2% fee on website sales and 2.5% through its marketplace integration, in addition to its subscription. Storepass's $99 Scaling plan has a 2% connected-product fee, while Starter and higher plans use flat monthly pricing without a Storepass sales commission.

Can Storepass support marketplace workflows?

Storepass supports marketplace and inventory workflows by plan and seller eligibility.

Which card lines does Storepass support that BinderPOS does not?

Storepass supports Riftbound, Gundam Card Game, and Japanese Pokémon, which are missing from BinderPOS's supported catalog. Stores can manage these lines within the same catalog, pricing, inventory, search, and buylist workflows as their other games.

What should we export before migrating from BinderPOS?

Preserve product and variant data, images, inventory by location, customers, store credit, orders, buylist rules and submissions, price rules, event data, redirects, and marketplace mappings. Validate the export before scheduling the cutover.
