Storepass vs TCGplayer Pro

Choose between a marketplace-native stack and a store-owned commerce platform.

TCGplayer Pro is a strong marketplace-first toolkit with native scanning, repricing, channel inventory, a hosted website, and an in-store kiosk. Storepass is the stronger fit when the retailer's own Shopify or BigCommerce storefront, POS, buylist, customer experience, and multi-location operation need to remain the center of the business.

Start with fit

Different tools optimize for different stores.

A feature count is only useful after the operating model is clear. These are the clearest public positions for each platform. We're not claiming that one system is right for every retailer.

Storepass position

Storepass

Vertical tools for stores that want to own the customer relationship

Storepass goes deep on the card-store customer journey rather than just focusing wide on marketplace connections. Flexible themes, search, merchandising, POS, buylist, customer credit, local inventory, and in-store experiences help retailers turn shoppers into a durable base of direct, repeat, and loyal customers.

Competitor strength

TCGplayer Pro

TCGplayer-native selling and inventory tools

Qualified Level 4 TCGplayer sellers that center their operation on the TCGplayer Marketplace and want native scanning, marketplace repricing, channel reserves, a hosted Pro website, and kiosk ordering.

Side-by-side

Compare the operating model, not just the checklist.

“Positive” markers highlight a documented strength, not an absolute winner. Availability can depend on plan, region, marketplace approval, and implementation.

Where Storepass leads

Build customer relationships that compound.

Marketplaces can add reach, but they own the shopping relationship and take a cut of each sale. Storepass focuses on the vertical tools card stores need to build direct customer relationships through a differentiated online experience, connected in-store service, and reasons to return. The result is a durable engine for repeat business and loyalty, not just another channel for one-off transactions.

Public feedback

Signals worth testing in your own proof of concept.

The public seller discussion we found is favorable to TCGplayer Pro's MassPrice and reserve-quantity tools. Treat those reports as useful operational context, then model the additional fee against your own order volume and ask both platforms to demonstrate the workflows your staff uses every day.

User-reported

TCGplayer Pro

Two experienced sellers said MassPrice scheduling and My Store reserve quantities made Pro worthwhile; one reported using repeated repricing while packing more than 1,200 orders per month.

These are self-reported experiences in one January 2026 Reddit discussion, not an independent performance study. They support TCGplayer Pro's case for marketplace-heavy sellers while underscoring the need to compare the percentage fee with the labor saved.

Questions to settle

Before you choose a platform.

Is TCGplayer Pro cheaper than Storepass?

At low online volume, TCGplayer Pro's lack of a monthly payment can be attractive. For shipped Pro Website sales, TCGplayer publishes a 2.5% Pro fee plus a 2.5% + $0.30 transaction fee. Storepass starts at $99/month plus 2% on connected-product sales, while Starter and higher plans use flat monthly pricing with no Storepass commission. Model each against website revenue, Marketplace revenue, payment fees, and staff time.

Is TCGplayer Pro a complete point-of-sale replacement?

TCGplayer Pro provides Seller Portal inventory, a Pro Website, channel controls, and a kiosk. Its own guides tell stores to ring Pay Later pickup and Quicklist transactions through their existing cash register or POS. Storepass includes dedicated POS options and connected trade-in, customer-credit, receipt, till, and multi-location workflows.

Can a TCGplayer Pro Website use my custom domain?

TCGplayer says it does not manage custom domains or SSL certificates for Pro Websites. A retailer can forward or redirect its domain to the TCGplayer Pro Website URL. Storepass uses the native domain and SSL capabilities of Shopify or BigCommerce.

Which platform is stronger for selling on the TCGplayer Marketplace?

TCGplayer Pro is the direct choice when the TCGplayer Marketplace is the center of the operation. It provides native Marketplace inventory, feedback, pricing, orders, Quicklist, MassPrice, and optional Direct workflows. Storepass is centered on the retailer's owned Shopify or BigCommerce operation and eligible external-channel workflows.

Can a third-party Sync seller add TCGplayer Pro without switching?

TCGplayer's current eligibility guide says Pro is for qualified Marketplace sellers who are not synced through a third-party ecommerce provider. Existing Sync sellers are instructed to contact TCGplayer to switch to Pro.

Which platform is better for multiple stores?

Storepass is designed to manage location inventory and customer-facing availability within one commerce stack by tier. TCGplayer's official guidance recommends a separate seller account and website for each location with distinct inventory, or one account and website when locations share inventory.
