Price Presales Before TCGplayer Market Exists

New presale products may not have a TCGplayer market price yet. When the selected source price is missing, Storepass cannot generate a normal automated retail price for that product or variant.

Use manual pricing or temporary locks for presales until reliable source pricing exists, then return the products to automation when the set has market data.

Before starting

• Market data may be missing: New products can exist before TCGplayer has usable Market or condition market values.
• Default minimums still need a source price: Default card values can raise a generated price, but they do not replace missing source pricing for every presale case.
• Manual controls are the safest presale option: They let you set the intended price while avoiding accidental automated changes.

Set presale prices manually

1. Open Products.
2. Select the product line.
3. Filter to the presale set.
4. Click Actions > Manual Price Controls.
5. Enter the retail prices you want to use for the presale products.
6. Save each changed row.

Protect presale products from automation

1. Keep the products locked if they should hold the manual presale price.
2. Use Actions > Lock All Prices on the filtered set if you need to lock the whole group.
3. If you create a set-specific rule, consider using Do not modify while the set is in presale.
4. Document the date you plan to review the set again after release.

Review when market prices appear

1. Open Retail Rules.
2. Search for products from the set.
3. Confirm TCGplayer/source prices now appear in the preview table.
4. Review the generated prices and criteria.
5. Remove any temporary Do not modify rule or unlock the filtered products when they should return to automation.
6. Run Update Retail Prices for the set.

After release

1. Review price approvals created by the first automated update.
2. Spot-check high-value products and variants.
3. Remove any presale-only notes or temporary internal reminders once pricing is stable.

Do not keep rerunning automated price updates expecting a missing TCGplayer market price to appear immediately. Wait for source data to exist, refresh source data if needed, then run the update again.
