Change Retail Price Sources

Created: 9/17/2024 | Last updated: 6/11/2026

Retail Rules can generate prices from different TCGplayer price sources. Changing the source lets you decide whether a rule follows Market, Median, Low, Low plus shipping, WPN seller pricing, or condition-based market pricing.

Price source changes are made per product line and per rule set. Review the generated price preview before updating live listings.

Before starting

  • Market Price: The default source.
  • Median Price: Available starting at Starter.
  • Low and WPN options: Some options require Pro or Enterprise.
  • Condition Market Price: Requires condition-level TCGplayer data and is available on higher tiers.

Change the source

  1. Open Retail Rules.
  2. Select the product line.
  3. Open the Default rule or the rule set you want to change.
  4. Open Advanced Rules.
  5. Under TCGplayer Price Source, select the source you want the rule to use.
  6. Click Save Rule.

Source options

  • General Market Price: Uses the standard TCGplayer market value.
  • Median Price: Uses TCGplayer Median instead of Market.
  • Higher of Low or Market: Uses whichever value is higher.
  • Higher of Low + Shipping or Market: Uses Low plus shipping when that is higher than Market.
  • Low without customization: Uses TCGplayer Low while excluding customized listings such as alternate language listings where supported.
  • Low + Shipping without customization: Uses the Low plus shipping value without customization where supported.
  • 50,000+ WPN Sellers Price: Uses the WPN seller price and falls back to the higher of Low or Market.
  • Condition Based Market Price: Uses the market price for each condition instead of using one general source price.

Review and update

  1. Use the preview table to compare live and generated prices.
  2. Confirm the Criteria column shows the rule set you changed.
  3. Run Update Prices for the full product line, or update a filtered group from Products.
  4. Review any price approvals created by the update.
If the selected TCGplayer source is missing for a product or condition, Storepass may leave the generated price blank instead of pushing a bad value. Use the preview table to find those products before running a large update.
