A product price can stay at $0 or stop changing when Storepass cannot generate a usable price, the product is locked, the rule says not to modify it, or the generated change is waiting for approval.
Use the Retail Rules preview first. It usually shows the reason a product will not update before you run another bulk task.
Before starting
- Open Retail Rules.
- Select the product line.
- Search for the product in the preview table.
- Compare the TCGplayer/source price, live price, generated price, and Criteria message.
Common causes
- No TCG market price: TCGplayer does not have usable pricing for the selected finish or condition yet.
- Finish is not set: Storepass needs a selected finish before it can match the right source price.
- Condition does not match: The variant condition does not match a Product Grade in Buylist Settings.
- Price Locked: The product has a manual override and is excluded from automated retail price updates.
- Do not modify: The matching Retail Rule is intentionally set to leave products unchanged.
- Needs approval: The generated change exceeded approval thresholds and is waiting in the price approval queue.
- Automatic updates are off: The product line will not update automatically until automatic price updates are enabled or a manual update is run.
Fix missing source data
- Open the product and confirm it is connected to the correct Storepass catalog listing.
- Confirm the catalog listing has a TCGplayer product id and current source pricing.
- If the product is connected incorrectly, disconnect and reconnect it to the correct catalog product.
- After source data is corrected, run a retail price update for the product or filtered group.
Fix finish or condition issues
- If the preview says Finish is not set, open the listing and select the correct finish.
- If the preview says to set up condition discounts, open Buylist Settings.
- Select the product line and review Product Grades.
- Make the condition labels match the product variants and save settings.
- Return to Retail Rules and preview the product again.
Fix locked or held prices
- Open Products and filter for the product.
- Use the Is Locked filter if you need to find manual overrides.
- Unlock the product if it should return to automated pricing.
- Open the price approval queue if the product shows Price Approval Needed.
- Approve, ignore, manually edit, or lock the proposed change.
Storepass treats a generated price of zero or blank as a problem to review, not as a normal price to push. Fix the missing data, lock, rule, or approval state before running another update.
After fixing
- Run the row-level update from Retail Rules, or use Actions > Update Retail Prices on a filtered Products search.
- Refresh the product and confirm the live price changed.
- Spot-check the storefront or ecommerce admin if the product is active.
