Use TCGplayer Median Price in Retail Rules

Created: 4/11/2025 | Last updated: 6/11/2026

Retail Rules can use TCGplayer Median Price instead of Market Price when you want generated prices to follow median sale/listing behavior instead of the general market value. This is configured per product line and per rule set.

Use this when a product line or set is better represented by Median Price, and review the generated price preview before pushing the change to live listings.

Before starting

  • Product line: Median Price is selected separately for each product line.
  • Rule set: You can apply Median Price to the Default rule or to a specific rule set.
  • Availability: Median Price is available starting at the Starter tier. Additional TCGplayer source options may require Pro or Enterprise.

Enable Median Price

  1. Open Retail Rules.
  2. Select the product line you want to update.
  3. Open the Default rule or the rule set that should use Median Price.
  4. Open Advanced Rules.
  5. Under TCGplayer Price Source, select Use TCGplayer Median Price instead of Market Price.
  6. Click Save Rule.

Review the preview

  1. Use the product preview table to compare the current live price with the generated price.
  2. Check the Criteria column to confirm the correct rule set is being used.
  3. If the generated price is blank or says no TCG price is available, confirm the product is connected to Storepass catalog data and has TCGplayer pricing data for the selected finish.

Update live prices

  1. When the preview looks correct, run Update Prices from Retail Rules.
  2. For a smaller group, filter the listings in Products and use Actions > Update Retail Prices.
  3. Review any items held by the price approval queue.
Changing the price source changes future generated prices. Listings that are manually locked will not be changed unless they are unlocked or your store settings allow retail updates while a manual override is active.
