If a card will not create in Shopify, the cause is usually a missing required template value, an existing duplicate, an already imported product, or a Shopify API error. Product Creation Tasks show the reason Storepass skipped or failed each item.
Use this article when a product creation task does not create the card you expected.
Check the task
- Open Product Creation Tasks.
- Find the task that created the set or product.
- Open the task details and review failed or skipped work items.
- Use the plain-language error first, then expand technical details only if support asks for it.
Common reasons
- Already imported: Storepass found an existing connected listing for the product or finish.
- Duplicate SKU: Shopify already has a product or variant with the generated SKU.
- Duplicate title: Shopify rejected the generated title as a duplicate.
- Empty title or SKU: the Product Creation Settings template rendered a blank required field.
- Image problem: the image URL was missing or Shopify could not use it.
- Shopify rate limit or timeout: Shopify delayed or rejected the request temporarily.
Fix
- Open Product Creation Settings for the product line.
- Check the preview for the product or a similar product.
- Fix templates that produce blank, duplicate, or invalid values.
- If the product already exists, connect the existing listing instead of creating a duplicate.
- Retry creation after the data issue is fixed.
Storepass avoids duplicate product creation by default. If the product already exists, the right fix is usually to connect or repair the existing listing, not create another one.
